Configuring simplified CFM SPBM

Use this procedure to configure CFM for the Shortest Path Bridging Mac (SPBM) VLANs on Virtual

Services Platform 4000.

This is a simplified command which automatically creates the MD, MA, MEP and associates it with

the B-VLAN and the MIP level with the B-VLAN.

Procedure

1. Log on to Global Configuration mode:

enable

configure terminal

2. Enable CFM for SPBM VLANs:

cfm spbm enable

3. Set the maintenance level for MEP and MIP:

cfm spbm level <0–7> mepid <1–8191>

4. Set the default maintenance level for MEP and MIP:

default cfm spbm level

5. Configure MEPID for all SPBM VLANs:

cfm spbm mepid <1–8191>

6. Set the default SPBM MEPID:

default cfm spbm mepid

7. Disable an existing CFM SPBM:

no cfm spbm enable

8. Display the CFM MEP configuration:

show cfm spbm

Example

VSP-4850GTS> enable

VSP-4850GTS# configure terminal

VSP-4850GTS(config)# cfm spbm enable

VSP-4850GTS(config)# cfm spbm level 4 mepid 1
