Warning: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with
the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufacturer. Dispose of used
batteries according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Disposal requirements vary by country and by state. Lithium batteries are not listed by
the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a hazardous waste. Therefore, they can
typically be disposed of as normal waste. If you are disposing of large quantities,
contact a local waste-management service.
No hazardous compounds are used within the battery module. The weight of the
lithium contained in each coin cell is approximately 0.035 grams.
Two types of batteries are used interchangeably:
• CR chemistry uses manganese dioxide as the cathode material.
• BR chemistry uses poly-carbonmonofluoride as the cathode material.
