Installation and Setup

This chapter describes the following:

• How to decide where to install the Summit switch

• Gigabit Ethernet configuration rules

• How to install the switch in a rack or free-standing

• How to connect equipment to the console port

• How to check the installation using the Power On Self-Test (POST)
