IPv6 ND Proxy Conguration Tasks
The IPv6 ND Proxy is congured through the tasks of turning on the proxy capability for the node (ipv6 nd proxy), and dening the IPv6
destination network (ipv6 route). This conguration requires dening the outgoing interface as ethernet (with the slot or port), or ve (with
the ve-id).
The commands for this conguration task are introduced at the conguration command level, and used to congure ipv6 static route by
specifying the destination prex and outgoing interface. As per the topology mentioned in the packet ow if the proxy is congured on
R2, this static route can be congured on R1 with a destination prex of 2002::/64. The static route can also be congured ve as an
outgoing interface.
NOTE
Support for the ipv6 nd proxy command is as follows:
Not supported over an v6 tunnel interface.
Currently supported for NS and NA messages.
Not supported for ND messages such as RS, RA, and redirect messages.
1. ipv6 nd proxy
The following step example shows a typical ipv6 nd proxy conguration command sequence executed from the conguration
command level.
