A dialog box can contain the following types of fields:
• Pagetabs,suchastheProperties & PortandIP Forwardingtabsin Figure 3-9. These are
used when there are multiple pages of settings for a specific function. Clicking a tab
displays its page.
• Text fields,suchastheVLAN Name field in Figure 3-9. Enter text or numbers by
clicking in the field and then typing.
To clear a value from a text field, highlight the value with the cursor and press the Del
or Backspace key onthe keyboard.You can also highlightthe valueand justtypea new
value over theold one.
• Drop-down menufields,suchastheProtocol Filter fieldin Figure 3-9.Clickinthe fieldto
drop down a menu of choices, then click on your selection to enter the value into the
field.
• List box fields,suchastheAvailable Switches field in Figure 3-9. Click to highlight a
value in the field. Click again to unselect a value.
If there are more entries in the list than can be displayed in the box, a scrollbar is
provided at the right side of the field.
Some listboxesallow multipleselections. Simply clickon multiple itemstoselectthem.
You can also use [Shift]-click to select the first and last items in a group of contiguous
items; all the items between your first and last selection will be highlighted.
