Network Topology Views
Topology applet lets you create additional views that organize your network elements in
any way you wish.
Creating a New View
You can create a new view (and its Root Map) by doing one of the following:
• Select New View from the New menu
• Click the “Create new view” icon on the icon bar:
A pop-up window appears where you can enter the name of the view.
When you click OK, a new, blank root map is displayed. The new view name appears in
the View field at the left of the icon bar.
If you select the Auto populate view option,asnewdevicesareaddedtoEPICenter,they
willalsobeadded tothe view, and submaps, L2cloudsand hyper nodes willbe created as
needed.If you do a Discoveryafteryou have createdaview withthe autopopulateoption
enabled, all new discovered devices will be added to the view.
You can display the Default view or any other views you have created by selecting the
View name from the pull down list in the View field.
You can rename the view by clicking in the View field and typing over the view name.

Creating a New Submap
You can create a new map by doing one of the following:
• Select New Map from the New menu
• Click the “Createnewmap”iconontheiconbar:
A new submap node appears on the map, and a New Map entry appears in the map
hierarchy tree, as shown in Figure 12-8.
