3 Click Import to begin the import process. The import button will not be enabled until
you enter a source name.
Progress during the import will be displayed in a pop-up window, as shown in
Figure 8-9.

4 When the process has completed, click OK.
If you are importing from a large source, the import process can take several minutes.
The new group and resources will be available under the Import Sources group in the
Component Tree.
If errors occur in the import process, it is possible that no data will be imported. This can
resultinan emptyimportgroupintheImportSourcestree.Once you fixtheproblems,you
can rerun the import.
ImportingfromanLDAPDirectory
The EPICenter Grouping Manager supports importing groups, users, and hosts from a
LDAP directory. The import process uses a TCL script to extract the requested data from
the LDAPdirectory, and create atextfile that specifieshow the resourcesshould be added
to the EPICenter database. This file is in the same format as the import file discussed in
“Importing from a File” on page 8-32.
