RSTP 802.1w Configuration Example
Figure 26 is an example of a network with multiple STPDs that can benefit from RSTP. For RSTP to
work, you need to do the following:
• Create an STPD
• Configure the mode of operation for the STPD
• Create the VLANs and assign the VLANid and the ports
• Assign the carrier VLAN
• Add the VLANs to the STPD
• Configure the port link types
• Enable STP
