OMPONENTS
The default configuration for the I/O module is not preserved unless you explicitly save
the information to nonvolatile RAM (NVRAM).
You can use the system software to configure the I/O module. You can also
pre-configure the parameters of a module that has not yet been inserted into the chassis.
The pre-configured information is used once the module is inserted. You must select a
module type for the slot before you can pre-configure the parameters.

The G4X and G6X modules are shown in Figure 1-5.

The G4X module has four Gigabit Ethernet ports. The G6X module has six Gigabit
Ethernet ports.
