The Alpine 3808 switch, shown in Figure 1-2, consists of the following components:
• One 9-slot chassis with backplane
• Eight I/O module slots, labeled Slot 1 through Slot 8
• One SMM module slot
• Two power supply slots
• One fan tray
• One electromagnetic discharge (ESD) wrist strap receptacle
