3. Once the drivers are installed, insert the USB connector of the Adapter
into the USB port on the desktop computer. The adapter will
automatically plug and play for Windows 98, Windows Me, and
Windows 2000 operating systems. Perform the following additional
steps to complete the installation for Windows XP operating systems.
Additional Installation Steps for Windows XP
1. When the Found New Hardware Wizard appears, select Install from a
list or specific location (Advanced) and click Next.
2. Select Don’t search. I will choose the driver to install and click Next.
3. Under the Model list, highlight XTNDAccess IrDA USB 9685A and click
Next.
4. On the Hardware Installation window, select Continue Anyway.
5. On the Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard window, select
Finish.
The LED on the ESI-9685A should now be flashing every few seconds to
indicate the drivers are installed.
