7.RechargeableBatteryandACPowerAdaptor
7.1RechargeableBattery
When the battery icon appears empty on the LCD, the battery must be charged. The
system uses a rechargeable Li‐Polymer 3.7V battery (supplied installed).Note that the
systemcanbeusednormallywhileitischarging.
ConnectthesuppliedUSBcabletotheUSBport(10)ontheleftsideofthemain
unit(under
the protective flap) and to a PC USB port. Then follow the programming instructions in
Section 8.11, USB Connection, for complete details. A full charge requires 5 hours.The
internalbatteryisnotuserserviceable.
TheUniversalACPowerAdaptorcanbeusedtorechargethebatteryas
explainedinthenext
section.
7.2UniversalACPowerAdaptor
ThesystemalsoincludesaUniversalACPowerAdaptorforpoweringthesystemand
rechargingthebattery.TheACPowerAdaptorjack(4)islocatedontheupperrightsideof
themainunitundertheprotectiveflap.
8.Operation
8.1ConnectingandPoweringtheSystem
Connectthecamera’ssignalcabletothekeyedjack(8)atthetopof
themainunitandsecuretightlywiththenut.
Mountthecameratothemainunitusing themountingscrewhole
onthebackofthemainunit.
InserttheSDCARDintothe
slot(7)ontheupperrightofthemain
unit.Usetheproperinsertionorientationanddonotforcethecard.
USBFlashDrivescanbeusedasexplainedlaterinthismanual.
ThesuppliedLi‐Polymerrechargeable3.7Vbatterypowersthe
system.Alternatively,usethesupplieduniversalACpoweradaptor
topowerthesystem.
PressandholdthePowerbutton(1)for2secondstoswitchthemeterON.Ifthemain
unitdoesnotpowerup,pleasechargethebatteryorusethesuppliedACpoweradaptor.
Checkthatcameraandmainunitareoperationalby
viewingthedisplayedcameraimage.
