1. InserttheblacktestleadbananaplugintothenegativeCOMjackandtheredtest

leadbananaplugintothepositivejack.

2. Turnthefunctionswitchtoposition.UsetheMODE

buttontoselectthediodefunctionifnecessary(thediodeand

voltagesymbolswillappearonthe

LCDwheninDiodetest

mode).

3. Touchthetestprobetipstothediodeorsemiconductor

junctionundertest.Notethemeterreading

4. Reversethetestleadpolaritybyreversingtheredandblack

leads.Notethisreading

5. Thediodeorjunctioncanbeevaluatedasfollows:

 Ifonereadingdisplaysavalue(typically0.400Vto

0.900V)andtheotherreadingdisplaysOL,thediodeis

good.

 IfbothreadingsdisplayOLthedeviceisopen.

4. Ifbothreadingsareverysmallor‘0’,thedeviceisshorted.


