The Issue
Installation, inspection and diagnostic jobs often require access to hard-to-reach or -see areas. Professionals from a
wide range of industries (Home Inspection, HVAC, Automotive, Government, Construction, Industrial, Aerospace) need
video inspection borescope cameras for a variety of jobs: inspecting wall cavities for moisture, insect infestation,
electrical wiring and water pipe location; inspecting ducts and obscured areas behind motors and compressors;
automotive access around tight engine bays; safety and security inspections, weld inspections, and industrial
machinery inspections (gearboxes, molding machines, cylinder bores, etc.).
The Solution
Extech Instruments has introduced the HDV600 Series High Definition VideoScope Inspection Cameras specifically for
these applications. Designed for use in virtually any environment, these rugged, waterproof (IP67) and drop-proof (2m)
industrial VideoScopes deliver images and video with remarkable sharpness and clarity. The new cameras are designed
to be intuitive and easy to use for new and experienced users alike.
The HDV600 main display unit features a large 5.7” TFT LCD monitor that is easy to view in bright outdoor sites,
cramped and poorly lit industrial spaces, or aircraft maintenance facilities. The large display, coupled with quality optics,
helps ensure you identify the most minute features or defects during inspections. You can capture and store nearly
15,000 images or up to 4 hours of video on an easy to transfer SD memory card. Plus, audio annotations can be
added to images helping to minimize or eliminate paper note-taking.
Users may attach a number of cameras with semi-rigid, flexible, and long-length fiberglass cables directly to the display
unit. And, for expanded inspection capabilities, articulating models are also available. Easy to hold for extended periods,
articulating models are available with wired connections to the main display unit and also wireless models for scope use
up to 100ft (30m) away from the display. Articulated controller handsets feature 6 millimeter cameras and a large, glove-
friendly, articulation control knob with adjustable resistance. With easy and precise control of the three-hundred-twenty-
degree articulated camera tip, these models simplify inspections of detail-intensive equipment.
