Note:Loosenortightenthesinglepoint
adjustmentboltenoughtomovetheheight-of-cut
platemountingboltsatleast1/3thelengthof
theavailabletravelintheirslots.Thiswillregain
someupanddownadjustmentoneachofthe
fourdecklinks.
17.Re-tightenfrontandrearheight-of-cutplate
mountingbolts.
Important:Torquethefrontandrear
height-of-cutplatemountingboltsto27-33
ft-lb(37-45N-m).

DeckRemoval
Beforeservicingorremovingthedeck,thespring
loadeddeckarmsmustbelockedout.
WARNING
Deckliftarmassemblieshavestoredenergy.
Removingthedeckwithoutreleasingthe
storedenergycancauseseriousinjuryor
death.
DoNotattempttodisassemblethedeck
fromthefrontframewithoutlockingoutthe
storedenergy.
1.Stopengine,waitforallmovingpartstostop,and
removekey.Engageparkingbrake.
2.Removetheheightadjustmentpinandlowerthe
decktotheground.
3.Placetheheightadjustmentpininthe3inch(7.6
cm)cuttingheightlocation.Thislocksthedeck
liftarmsinthelowestpositionwhenthedeckis
removed.
4.Removetheoorpanandbeltshields.
5.Insert1/2inchsocketdriverintothesquarehole
ontheidlerbracketandcarefullyrotatethedeck
idlercounterclockwisetoremovethebelt.
6.Removeandretainthehardwareonbothsidesof
thedeckasshowninFigure29.
