Note:Determinetheleftandrightsidesofthemachinefromthenormaloperatingposition.
WARNING
Ifyouleavethewireonthesparkplug,someone
couldaccidentallystarttheengine.Accidental
startingoftheenginecouldseriouslyinjureyou
orotherbystanders.
Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplugbefore
youdoanymaintenance.Setthewireasideso
thatitdoesnotaccidentallycontactthespark
plug.
WARNING
Theenginecanbecomeveryhot.Touchingahot
enginecancausesevereburns.
Allowtheenginetocoolcompletelybefore
serviceormakingrepairsaroundtheenginearea.
WARNING
Tippingthelawnmowermaycausethefuel
toleakfromthecarburetororthefueltank.
Gasolineisextremelyammable,highly
explosive,andundercertainconditions,can
causepersonalinjuryorpropertydamage.
Avoidfuelspillsbyrunningtheenginedryorby
removingthegasolinewithahandpump;never
siphon.

•Checkthemowerbladeandtheenginemountingfasteners.
•Checkforloosehardware.
•ChecktheBladeBrakeClutchBailoperation(BladeBrakeClutchUnitsOnly)
•Cleanthegrassbuild-upfromunderthedeck.
•Cleanthedischargetunnelandplug.
Every25hours
•Cleanthefoampre-cleaner(KawasakiUnits).
•Cleanthecover,base,foamandpaperelements(ECXHNBBC21andECXHN21Units).
Every40hours
•Checktheconditionofthebelt(s).
Every50hours
•Changetheengineoil.(Mayneedmoreoftenundersevereconditions.)
•Checkforleaksinthefuelsystemsand/ordeterioratingfuelhose.
•Cleanunderthebeltcover(self-propelledunitsonly).

•Cleanunderthecoverplate(Non-BBCUnits).

•Changetheoillter(ECXKA21andECXKABBC21Units).
•Checkthesparkplugs.
•Cleanthefuellterelement.

•Replacetheairlterelements(ECXHNBBC21andECXHN21Units).(Mayneedmore
