5 Using the IQ-200 Optical Test
System
Getting Started with the IQ-203 Control Unit
Before powering on the IQ-203 Control Unit and IQ-206 Expansion Unit,
EXFO recommends that you carefully read the previous sections of this
instruction manual to ensure that
➤ you comply with the safety precautions, power requirements, and
other safety instructions given in Safety Information on page 9.
➤ you have connected the units together properly via the IQ interface
cable as specified in Connecting IQ-206 Expansion Units to an IQ-203
Control Unit on page 17.
WARNING
Any failure to respect the safety and operation guidelines given in this
manual may void the product warranty and could result in product
damage or personal injury.
To power on the IQ-200 Optical Test System,
1. Make sure that all units are properly connected.
2. Insert the desired modules into the IQ-203 Control Unit and IQ-206
Expansion Units, as explained in Inserting Modules in the IQ-203 or
IQ-206 on page 39.
CAUTION
Never insert a module while the IQ-203 Control Unit or IQ-206
Expansion Unit is powered on. This will result in immediate and
irreparable damage to the module and the IQ-203 or IQ-206.
