• Make sure the instrument is held down through the entire scan.
Performing a Spot Color Measurement
1. Position the target window aperture on the spot as indicated on the instrument. Scan chassis
remains on the instrument during a spot measurement.
2. Lower the instrument to the target base and hold steady until the measurement is complete.
3. Release the instrument.
Performing a Color Bar Measurement
1. Make sure the instrument is connected to the computer via USB or Bluetooth.
2. Select the required task from the software.
NOTE: If you attempt to use the instrument during a Task List in the wrong measurement
condition mode, a message will appear (e.g., software wants the color bar to be measured using
M1 and the instrument’s switch position is in the M0/2/3 position). Simply move the Measurement
Condition switch to the proper position before continuing.
3. Spot measure the substrate if requested by the software. (If the substrate is changed a new
substrate measurement must be performed.
4. Position the target window aperture over the first patch of the color bar.
5. Lower the instrument to the target base and hold steady until the instrument beeps or the
speed indicator appears on the display.
6. In one continuous motion, roll the instrument across the color bar without stopping. Use the
black scribe line on the edge of the chassis to align instrument during the scan, and view the
instrument display for scan speed indication. See below for details.
