3. VTR Control Panel

3.1 INTRODUCTION

3.1.1 PURPOSE

The purpose of the VTR Control Panel is to control a VTR (Video Tape Recorder)

from IPDirector. It is an advanced remote control, from within the IPDirector

application.

Apart from playback and record control, it also allows the extraction of clips from

a tape to the EVS video servers. This process can be done for a single clip or

multiple clips can be “batch digitized”.

3.1.2 OVERVIEW OF THE DISPLAY MODES

The VTR Control Panel has 3 display modes:

• transport mode

• single clip digitize mode

• batch list mode

The display modes are controlled by the buttons in the top right corner of the

initial VTR Control Panel window.

To select a display mode: click the corresponding block (top left / top right /

bottom).
