When a clip is loaded on the Control Panel, you can press the Photo button on the
Database Explorer toolbar or type SHIFT+P on the keyboard to grab a thumbnail
for the loaded clip.
Note
For IPDirector to create a thumbnail in this way, the output of the
selected channel must be connected to an input of the workstation’s
video board and the picture displayed in a video display window on the
VGA.
Note
Thumbnails can be created automatically when there is an XFile or
XTAccess designated within the thumbnails configuration in the
IPDirector Remote Installer. Please see the Technical Reference manual
for further details.
2.3.5 TOOLS MENU
This section provides a description of some tools used to define the Database
Explorer setup, use and appearance.
The Database Explorer Tools menu offers the following options:
The options are described in the table below:

Auto-Refresh
Mode of Database
Explorer
Selects/De-selects Auto refresh mode for the grid.
When large amounts of data are present, the automatic
refresh can slow down the system. To only refresh the
system on demand, disable this option.
You can do a manual refresh by clicking the Refresh button
Auto-Refresh in
filter mode
Selects/De-selects Auto refresh mode for the grid in Filter
mode.
