Installation Guide
Horizontal Application
Dry fit the first plank by beginning at a floor corner and placing the plank tongue side up.
Maintain a 1/8 inch gap between the plank and the floor, the plank and the ceiling, and at each
corner to allow for expansion and contraction. Decorative corner mouldings can be used on
both inside and outside corners to cover gaps. Apply a bead of adhesive on the back of the
plank and attach plank to the wall. It is very important to ensure that this first plank is level!
Face nail the first plank, even if you plan to glue the other planks. It is recommended that the
plank is nailed into the studs. Drill pilot holes to avoid splitting the plank as necessary. Continue
to add planks to the wall by inserting the groove of each plank into the tongue of the adjacent
plank. Use adhesive and/or nails to secure each plank. Nailing planks to studs every 16 inches
will ensure excellent adhesive contact. Use crown moulding to cover any gaps that occur
between the last plank and the ceiling or angle trim the back of the last plank to fit snugly
against the ceiling or scribe the last plank to fit the contour of the ceiling, leaving a 1/8" gap for
expansion.
Diagonal Application
Start the plank paneling at a floor location and cut and fit a triangular shaped (small) piece at a
45
o
angle. Make sure that the tongue side is up. Maintain a 1/8 inch gap between the plank and
the floor, the plank and the ceiling, and at each corner to allow for expansion and contraction.
Decorative corner mouldings can be used on both inside and outside corners to cover gaps.
Apply adhesive on the back of the plank piece and attach plank to the wall. Nail into place to
secure. Drill pilot holes to avoid splitting the plank as necessary. Continue to add planks to the
wall by inserting the groove of each plank into the tongue of the adjacent plank, working across
to a diagonal corner. Use adhesive and/or nails to secure each plank. Nailing planks to studs
every 16 inches will ensure excellent adhesive contact. Use base moulding to cover any gaps
