4.2 Controller Configuration
To
set
the
EV-390/391/392
controller
card
for
each
drive, you
must
move
jumper
positions
1-4
on
SW1.
Jumper
positions 1
and
2
control
Drive
2
(your
second drive)
and
Jumper
positions
3
and
4
control
Drive
1
(your
first
drive).
The
EPROM
chip
on
the
EV-390/391
controller
(see
Figure
3
and
4
for
the
location
of
the
EPROM
chip
on
the
controllers)
comes
in
several
versions (labeled 3.92A,
3.93,
3.94,
3.95,
3.96
and
3.97)
that
support
specific
drive
types.

shows
the
proper
configuration
of
SW1 (see
Figures
3
and
4
for
SW1
configuration
options)
and
the
type
of
EPROM
needed
for
the
drives.
There
is
only
one
EPROM
version
available
on
the
EV-392.

proper

pertaining
to
each
drive
type.
EXAMPLE:
For
the
Seagate ST4096 80MB
drive
connected
to
the
EV-390/391
controller,
make
sure
the
EPROM
is
labeled
"3.95,"
and
make
sure
no
jumpers
are
installed
(option
A
from
Figures
3
and
4).
