Using the
DOS
COpy
CON Command to Create
or
Modify the CONFIG.SYS File
We
recommend
using
your
editor
or
word
processing
program
to
create
or
modify
the
CONFIG.SYS
file.
However,
if
you
do
not
have
an
editor
or
word
processing
program,
you
can
use
the
DOS
COpy
CON
command
to
add
the
EMM.SYS
device
driver.
1.
Make
sure
you
are
in
the
root
directory
of
your
system
disk.
At
the
DOS
prompt
type:
cd\
type config.sys
[enter]
[enter]
If
the
message
"File
not
found"
appears,
go
on
to
step
2.
If
one
or
more
command
lines
appear,
get
a
pencil
and
paper
and
copy
down
the
line(s)
exactly
as
they
appear
on
your
'Screen.
2.
WARNING: This step will overwrite
any
existing
config.sys file!
At
the
DOS
prompt
type:
cd\
copy con: config.sys
[enter]
[enter]
