Installation (continued) 2 Installing the expansion tank □□ Drain the water system or isolate the area where the expansion tank (A) will be installed. □□ Install the expansion tank (A) on the supply side of the water heater, or on the suction side of the heating circulator. Use a hanger strap to support the weight of the expansion tank (A), as needed. □□ Re-pressurize the system and check for leaks. Repair as necessary. □□ Restart the water heater system and check for relief valve discharge.
