Shallow Well Installation (continued)
NEW SHALLOW WELL INSTALLATION
CAUTION: To avoid skin burns, unplug the pump and allow time for it to cool after periods of extended use.
1
Connecting a rigid pipe to the foot
valve
2
Sliding the pipe assembly into the
well
WARNING: Read the cement instructions carefully and
make sure the pipe connections are strong enough. This pump
could build up to 70 psi pressure in the system. If the pipe
joints are weak, the pipe and foot valve could pop out and fall
into the well by the system high pressure.
Subtract 5 ft. from the depth of your well. This is the total length of
rigid pipe.
Connect one section of rigid pipe to the foot valve.
Before sliding the pipe assembly into the well, firmly clamp the
assembly with a pipe clamp (not included) to prevent the
assembly from sliding down into the well.
NOTE: DO NOT let the assembly slide down into the well.
3
Sliding a well seal over the rigid
pipe
4
Attaching a tee to the rigid pipe
Remove the pipe clamp and slide a well seal (sold separately) over
the rigid pipe and onto the well casing (not pictured).
The rigid pipe should extend approximately 12 in. from the well
seal, depending on the height of the pump.
Tighten the well seal until the rubber gaskets are tight against the
well casing and the rigid pipe.
Attach a 1-1/4 in. tee and plug (sold separately) onto the rigid
pipe extending from the well seal.
