Drawing a reference square
□ Draw a reference square 25-3/8 in. x 25-3/8 in. on the roof
using the hole drilled in step 2 as the center.

Drawing a circle
□ Within the square, draw a 17 in. diameter circle (1) and
remove shingles, nails, and felt from the circle.

Cutting the roof
□ Draw a 14-1/2 in. diameter circle (2) inside the 17 in.
circle(1). Ensure that the hole drilled in step 2 is at the
center of this circle.
□ Cut through the decking using the 14-1/2 in. circle as the
cut line.

Positioning the ange
□ Slide the fan’s ange up under the shingles. You may need
to remove some roong nails.
□ Position the fan on the reference square drawing in step 3
to align the exhaust opening.
