Installation Instructions:
1.
Shut off water supply to the faucet. Once the water supply is shut off,
turn the faucet on, to release water pressure; then turn the faucet off.
1a. Remove the index button from center of the handle to expose the
screw and remove handle.
1b. Check which cartridge is being used while unit is exposed.
1c. Remove the remainder of the old unit/Trim.
2. With the unit removed, identify your current valve type:
This step helps identify the correct Sleeve, Faceplate Insert and
Handle Adapter (included in this Kit) needed to complete installation.
Type A- Uses 600 series with #212 ball (Diamond Shaped)
Type B- Uses 600 series with #70 ball (Round Shaped)
Type C- Requires Monitor 13/14 series (Two Flat Sides)
3. Install new Sleeve and Faceplate based on identified valve type.
3a. Valve Type A and B use the same Sleeve (see photos, 3a).
Valve Type C, uses the larger Sleeve. Install sleeve, then go to step 3d.
For Valve Type A and B only: Install new Sleeve by sliding over valve.
Install new Dome Nut and Dome Bushing, then hand tighten.
3b. Install new Faceplate. If the valve uses a diverter, remove
the O-Ring and diverter plug from the Faceplate.
3c. Remove the backing of the Foam Insert of the Faceplate and place
over the diverter. If the diverter isn't needed, don't remove the diverter
plug and O-ring from the Faceplate.
3d.
Valve type A and B use the same Faceplate Insert, with smaller
opening. Type C uses the larger Faceplate Insert, with larger inner
opening and Sleeve. Remove the backing paper from the Foam Insert
and attach to correct Faceplate Insert. Firmly press Faceplate Insert
(with attached Foam Insert) into Faceplate.
3e. Insert Faceplate Gasket into Faceplate. Slide over the Sleeve,
making sure diverter hole is centered on bottom. Secure the Faceplate
to the valve body (with included Screws), and hand tighten.
4. Install new Handle Adapter based on identified valve type.
Handle Adapter for A and B: Depending on valve stem, begin to partially
thread set screw into Handle Adapter. Slide Handle Adapter onto valve
stem. Make sure Adapter is facing down. Tighten Set Screw into the
Adapter. Handle Adapter C: Place Adapter in downward position onto
the valve stem. Slide on (don’t tighten/secure to stem).
5. Install new Handle. For Plastic Handle: A and B valves: Use Screw
and Lock Washer to secure Handle to Handle Adapter. Valve Type C:
Handle will screw into directly into the stem, using Screw. Both require
that the Index Button is pressed into the Handle after tightening.
For Metal Handle:
A and B valves will require the Hex Screw going
through the Handle, and tightened into the Adapter. Handle should point
down.
Type C requires the Screw and Lock Washer be placed into the
valve stem. The Metal Handle will be facing downward, and the Hex
Screw will be placed in to tighten it up.
