3 Fit the VIPER / VIPER-Lite power supply cable to the plug on the board.
4 Connect a serial terminal emulator

to COM1 using the supplied null modem
adaptor and cable.
5 Configure the serial terminal as follows:

115200 baud.
No parity.
8 data bits.
No handshaking.
6 Switch on the VIPER / VIPER-Lite board once the terminal emulator is set up on
the host PC.
The Linux operating system is loaded from the on-board Flash memory, and the
board displays a Linux prompt. For a description of AEL see page 16 of the AEL
Technical Manual, which is in the /manuals/ folder on the Development Kit CD.
