NOTES CONCERNING THE MODEL 1431/32 AUTO-DIAL MODEMS cont.
CALLING IN TO THE CONTROL PANEL: Any time the Model 1431/1432 auto-dial
modem is powered up, there will be a momentary flicker of the LEDs and then the modem will
assume an idle condition. If there is no line fault problem, then all LEDs will be off. However,
the green auto-answer enabled (AAE) LED must be on to allow the control panel to answer a
call from the PANELMAN software. This occurs when the command S0=8 is detected in the dial
command originated by the control panel or by ensuring that J1 and/or J2 are shorted. If no
jumpers are present, you must log an event which forces the dial command string to be
transmitted into the auto-dial modem. An easy way to do this is to select SERVICE MODE
mode (Service user code + shift YES) and then to press NO to quit. The panel will load the
modem with the dial command and the AAE led will light.
