OPERATING THE PANEL
This section details the functional operation of the panel when it is armed and disarmed.
Additional information about some other features is also provided.
ARMING
Areas 1 through 4 have exit/entry timers and can be armed from within the protected area. To
arm these areas, enter your user code and then press the number key that represents that area. If
all zones in the area are closed, then the display will show AREA-N ARMED. The relevant area
output C-LEM (if used) will operate to indicate that the area is now armed. (See page 64 for
C-LEM assignments.) If the exit/entry time variable has been set to a value other than zero, then
the piezo-sounder(s) will beep and the relevant EXIT remote buzzer output C-LEM (if used) will
operate to give an audible indication that it is time to leave. If any zones are open, the piezo-
sounder(s) will beep and the display will show CANNOT ARM, followed by a list of the open
zones. If an open zone cannot be closed, see page 42 for information on shunting that zone.
The user must now follow the exit path and leave the area through an EXIT zone. Areas 1 and 2
can also have exit-path protection zones. These are known as FOLWR1 and FOLWR2 zone
types respectively. Straying from the exit path into other protected zones will cause a full
intruder alarm condition. At the expiry of the exit time, the piezo-sounder(s) will stop beeping
and the relevant C-LEM will reset. The area is now armed.
If an exit door in any individual area remains open at the end of the exit time for that area, then a
full alarm condition will result. The exit zone that is open will be logged and the display will
show the flashing alert message *IMPROPER CLOSING*, the flashing alert message
**INTRUDER ALARM**, and a flashing zone description.
When both all areas are armed, then the common area will also be armed and the COMMON
AREA armed output C-LEM (if used) will operate. The display will blank indicating that all
areas are armed.
DISARMING
An entry into any of areas 1 through 4 will cause the piezo-sounder(s) to start beeping and the
relevant EXIT remote buzzer output C-LEM (if used) to operate. The user must then disarm the
area within the entry time. To disarm an area, enter your user code and then press the number
key that represents that area. If excessive time is taken to disarm the area, a full alarm condition
will result. If this occurs, the EXIT zone that caused the alarm will be logged. When the area is
finally disarmed, the display will show the flashing alert message *SLOW ENTRY ALARM*,
the flashing alert message **INTRUDER ALARM**, and a flashing zone description.
