PROGRAMMING THE PANEL cont.
(IMMEDIATE) COMMAND MODE ( I key): This mode is used by the serviceperson to
program a command that will be executed by the control panel when the RETURN key is
pressed. Command strings should only be entered by experienced personnel as improperly
entered data can cause havoc with the panel. To select this mode, enter the Service user code and
then press the
I key (shift 1).
NUMBER OF AREAS ASSIGNMENT (L key): This function allows the Service user to
program the number of areas to be monitored. Enter the Service user code and then press the L
key (shift 2). The display will show NO. OF AREAS N, where N is the current number of
areas. Enter the number of areas to be monitored and then press the RETURN key to exit.
Note: If you change the number of areas to a lesser number (e.g., remove area 6 from a
6-area system to make a 5-area system) after the system has been set up and running, you must
perform the following steps:
Before you change the number of areas, select the AREA/USER ASSIGNMENT function (see
below) and press the NO key to deny each user who could previously arm and disarm an area
(area 6 in this example). Next, the AREA-6 armed/disarmed message must be removed from the
display. Select the IMMEDIATE COMMAND MODE mode (see above). The display will be
blank but for the flashing cursor at the left. Enter .15X [period (shift-shift-FULL DISARM)15X
no spaces] where X is one less than the number of the area. In our example, 5 being one less than 6,
enter .155 and then press the RETURN key. Select the NUMBER OF AREAS ASSIGNMENT
function (see below) and enter the new value for the number of areas (5 in this example).
AREA/USER ASSIGNMENT (M key): This function assigns to all the users of multi-area
panels (including Service user number 1 and Master user number 2) the individual areas that
they can arm and disarm. Enter the Service user code or Master user code and then press the M
key (shift 3). The display will show ENTER USER NO. 1. Press the RETURN key to accept
user 1, or enter another user number and then press the RETURN key. You may now assign
which areas, if any, that user can arm and disarm. The display will now show AREA-1 NO,
indicating that at this time area 1 is not to be armed and disarmed by that user. Press the
RETURN key to accept the display or press the YES key to allow arming and disarming. A yes
choice may be changed to no by pressing the NO key. Proceed in a similar manner until all areas
have been dealt with. The display will now show the next user number. At this point, you may
continue to assign areas to users or you may press the NO key to exit from this function.
RELAY/C-LEM TEST (O key): This function allows all outputs on the panel to be examined
and tested. Enter the Service user code and then press the O key (shift 5). The display will show
OUTPUT 1 ON. The current state of the output, on or off, is indicated and the state may be
