When programming a 3GS locally, it will be necessary to
connect the PC or laptop to one of the 3GS serial ports. Your
choice of port may be limited, as ports may already be in use
(port 2 is generally used for DM1200).
In general use the 3GS controller port 1 if possible, as its
default settings (shown below) allow direct connection from
Panelman. The baud rate is selectable between 2400, 4800 ,
9600 up to 38,400. Remember that if you select a faster
baud rate in Panelman, the port baud rate must also be
changed in 3GS engineer menu option “Set Data Format”. If
port 2 or 3 is used, it will be necessary to change the port
settings.
