Dial Remote Panel
The screen shows :
Ensure the correct telephone number is entered at DIAL STRING
: ATD
. Scroll through the options using g and h and ensure
that the communications protocol is correct,
BAUD RATE etc.
Default modem parity is set as
EVEN. If your modem uses
PARITY : NONE, use q to change this setting.
Press
n to accept data. If this is a new file communications
are initiated. If it is an existing file press
f to send the
highlighted file. A
PROGRAMMING MODEM message is displayed.
If communications are successful the Panelman
MAIN MENU is
displayed (go to page 15).
If not, an error message appears and it may be necessary to
use
TERMINAL MODE to determine the nature of the error.
Wait on call from panel
If you are expecting a call from an installation (ie. a user at
the installation enters the “Force Call” function) this menu
option allows you set up your modem and puts Panelman
into its call waiting mode. When you end the call, Panelman
will clear the %’ variable (ie. the panel dial out variable).
When the
DIRECTORY ENTRY screen is displayed (see above)
enter Baud Rate and Parity to match those of the installation.
