Configuring the COM Port for the RFID Reader

You need to make sure that the COM port for the RFID reader is set to COM 1 at a

9600 baud rate. To do this follow the instructions below:

1. Click

Start

(menu), point to

Settings

and click

Control Panel

(or click

Control Panel

2. Double-click Device Manager (icon); Device Manager (icon) is in Hardware and Sound

(category).

3. Click “+” next to Ports (COM & LPT) if its sub-items are not shown.

4. Double-click Communications Port (COM1).

5. Click Port Settings (tab) and make sure that the Bits per second rate is set to 9600 baud.

6. Click OK and close the Device Manager.
