Bluetooth Module
The optional Bluetooth module allows you to connect your computer to Bluetooth
enabled devices such as other computers, desktop computers, mobile phones, print-
ers, digital cameras, PDAs, headsets etc. using a short-range radio frequency.
If your purchase option includes the Combination Wireless LAN & V3.0 Blue-
tooth module (either Intel® Centrino Advanced-N 6230 or 3rd Party) then in-
stall the driver as instructed below:
•For 3rd party Bluetooth modules see the installation procedure see “3rd Party
Bluetooth Combo Driver Installation” on page 7 - 46 and “3rd Party Blue-
tooth & WLAN Combo Settings” on page 7 - 47.
•For Intel Bluetooth modules see the installation procedure see “Intel Blue-
tooth Combo Driver Installation” on page 7 - 54 and “Bluetooth Configura-
tion in Windows 7” on page 7 - 55.
If your purchase option includes the standalone V2.1 Bluetooth module then no
driver is required and you can configure the settings as per the instructions in “Blue-
tooth Configuration in Windows 7” on page 7 - 55.
Use the Fn + F12 key combination or Touch Sensor Instant Key to toggle power
to the Bluetooth module. When the Bluetooth module is powered on, the touch sen-
sor LED will be highlighted and the indicator will briefly be displayed.

Aircraft
The use of any portable
electronic transmission de-
vices aboard aircraft is usu-
ally prohibited. Make sure
the module(s) are OFF if
you are using the computer
aboard aircraft.
Use the Fn + F12 key com-
bination to toggle power to
the Bluetooth module, and
check the LED to see if the
module is powered on or
not (see Table 1 - 4, on
page 1 - 10/ Table 1 - 3, on
page 1 - 8).
Note that you need to
install both the WLAN
& Bluetooth drivers
for the WLAN & Blue-
tooth Combo module.
