Battery Charging
The Marco Polo monitoring and tracking system consists of two parts: a
handheld “Locator” unit and up to three “Tag” transceivers. Prior to first use, the
internal lithium rechargeable batteries must be charged with the included battery
charger adapter. Also, if the battery is ever removed from the locator, the charger
must be connected at least momentarily to reset it. Figure 3 shows the location of
the charging jacks. Tag transceivers accept a standard USB Micro A or B cable,
locators may use a USB Micro connector or a round “power barrel” type
connector depending on your model of locator. The charging source may be any
5 VDC source with a USB Type A connector and at least a 500mA output current
capability. This can include the supplied AC adapter, automotive USB
outlets/adapters, rechargeable battery packs, solar panels and the like.
