7.1 Cleaning
Cleaning is fundamentally important to the good operation of the grinder and doser. A
neglected grinder and doser can negatively affect not just the extraction of coffee from the
machine, but also the precision of grinding and dosing. Before cleaning, make sure that the
appliance is not connected to the mains power. At least once a week, it is necessary to take
off the coffee bean container (2), removing the fastening screw in the side of the container
itself and taking care to close it first by pulling the tab (14) (see Fig. 3 and 4), and use a
clean cloth to wipe away the oily layer left by the coffee beans.
The new doser needs to be run in. It is in any case necessary to lift the lid (13) and then
clean the inside of the doser with a brush (at least once a week). It is also necessary to clean
(even more than once daily), the dispensing spout, using a brush (see Fig. 10), and first
removing the rubber protection (see Fig. 9). Failure to do so means a risk of allowing the
aromatic oily substance from the coffee to turn rancid and this will have a negative effect on
successive cups of coffee. What is more, a lack of proper cleaning may also interfere with
the regularity of the dose itself.
A damp cloth is sufficient to wipe the base clean.
7.2 Maintenance
WARNING
Maintenance operations must only be performed by qualified service engineers,
authorised to perform such operations by the manufacturer.
WARNING
Never perform makeshift or precarious repairs and never use non-original spare parts.
For good appliance operation, it is necessary to check and if required, replace the grinders
every 500 kg of coffee ground (flat grinders).
