TheMI715’sSampleRateissetexternallybyoneoftwosourcesignalsorinternallyby
crystalsandassociatedcircuitry.TheSampleRateSourceisdeterminedautomatically
bythepresenceofsignalswhentheMI715ispoweredon.Theorderinwhichexternal
signalsaretestedforpresenceis:AES,Word,Internal.
ThedetectedsignalimmediatelybecomesthesourcefortheMI715’ssamplerate
clock.Theauto‐sensedSampleRateSourcecanbeoverriddenusingthebuttononthe
frontpaneloftheMI715,belowtheSampleRateSourceLEDs.IfneitherAESnorWord
Clocksignalsarepresent,theMI715usesitsinternalclockderivedfromon‐boardvolt‐
age‐controlledcrystal.
ThedefaultinternalSampleRateoftheMI715is48kHz.Thisdefaultinternalratecan
beoverriddenwiththeSampleRatebuttononthefrontpaneloftheMI715(directly
belowtheSampleRateLEDs)to44.1,48or96kHz.

TheMO705detectsSampleRateandSampleRate SourceliketheMI715withthe
followingtwodifferences:
• SincetheMO705isalwaysaslavetoanexternalSampleRateSource,thereis
nointernalSampleRatesetting.
•TheMO705canuseMADIinadditiontoAESorWordClockasaSampleRate
Source,anddetectsthepresenceofthesesignalsinthefollowingorder:AES,
Word,MADI.
Whenasignalisdetected,itimmediatelybecomesthesamplerateclockofthe
MO705.Theauto‐sensedSampleRateSourcecanbeoverriddenwiththeSampleRate
SourcebuttononthefrontpaneloftheMO705,belowtheSampleRateSourceLEDs.
