7. Plug the other end of the Ethernet crossover cable into an open Ethernet
jack on your computer, router, or Ethernet switch (Figure 2-5).
An Ethernet router or switch is required to connect additional Artist Series media
controllers or to a local area network. Note that connecting directly to the comput-
er (Figure 2-5-right) may require removing your Internet cable.
If you have a Mac with two Ethernet ports, use Ethernet 1, not Ethernet 2.

8. Turn on your router (if applicable), then turn on your Mac and wait until it
finishes starting up.
9. Press and release the POWER switch on your MC Color.
Look at the top-right of your screen and wait up to 60 seconds. A green icon
in the menu bar indicates correct installation.
If you did not see the green icon, see Troubleshooting on page 18 before pro-
ceeding.
10. Launch Apple Color.
11. Select Setup Room.
12. Select User Prefs.
13. Select Show Control Surface Dialog.
14. Select Euphonix EuCon Control Surfaces from the drop down menu.
15. Click Yes to exit the dialog.
