• Check the reverse shaft for wear or damage.
• Check the final shaft and gear for burning, wear,
or damage.
• Check the bearings on the gear box and gear
box cover.
• Rotate each bearing’s inner ring with fingers.
• The bearing should turn smoothly and quietly.
• Check if the bearing outer ring is mounted on
the gear securely.
• If the bearing rotation is uneven, makes noise, or
mounted loosely, then replace it.
• Check oil seal for wear or damage, and replace it
if necessary.
• If the drive shaft is removed from the
crankcase upper side, the bearing has to be
replaced.
