5-9 Fuel Tank
Fuel Tank Removal
• Remove the seat
• Remove the front cover and fuel tank.
• Remove the side covers and lower side covers.
• Remove the front fender (see chapter 13).
• Remove the 4 bolts
• Remove the fuel sending unit
Caution
• When removing the sending unit, be careful to
not bend the arm on the fuel sending unit.
• Some fuel needs to be drained from the tank to
ensure that no fuel will spill when the sending
unit is removed.
Fuel Unit Installation
• Install the gauge in the reverse order of removal.
Caution
Remember to install the fuel unit gasket. Do not
allow the gasket to be damaged.

Fuel Tank Removal
• Remove the seat
• Remove the front cover and fuel tank.
• Remove the side covers and lower side covers.
• Remove the front fender. (See chapter 13)
• Disconnect fuel unit coupler.
• Remove fuel unit (4 bolts).
• Remove the fuel tube.
• Remove the vacuum tube
