• Check for any wear and damage on the
mechanical seal and inside seal.
• The mechanical seal and inside seal must be
replaced together if necessary.
Mechanical Seal Replacement
• Remove the inside bearing by inner bearing
puller.
• Drive the mechanical seal and inner seal out of
the right crankcase.
• Special tools:
o Inner bearing puller
o Water pump bearing driver
• Replace the mechanical seal and inside seal
after removing it.
• Apply a coat of sealant to the adjoining surfaces
of the right crankcase before installing the new
mechanical seal.
• Install the mechanical seal onto the right
crankcase.
• Special tool: Water pump mechanical seal
driver.
