SHOOTING
This section provides an overview o f common i s s u e s , and
possible s o l u t i o n s for the installation and o p e ration of y o u r
Travel Router.
1. Why your wireless client CAN NOT access the Internet?
When the Tra v e l Router is c o n f i g u red to use Wire l e s s
encryption (WEP, WPA/WPA2 etc), you n e e d to ensure your
wireless ad a p t e r settings match your 3G Routers settings.
Please refer to your wire l e s s a d a p t e r manual for more
information. E n s u re t h a t the wireless client is associated
with your Travel Router.
To check this connection (Windows XP), follow these steps:
• Click on Start > Control Panel > Network Connection
• Right Click on Wireless Network connection
• Select V i e w A v a i l a b l e W i reless Networks. The “Connect
to Wire l e s s Network” screen appears . Ensure you have
selected the correct wireless network.
Ensure the IP Addre s s a s s i g n e d to the wireless ad a p t e r i s
within the same s u b n e t as your Travel R o u t e r. The Travel
Router has a default IP Address of 192.168.20.1. Wireless
adapters m u s t have an IP A d d ress in t h e same ra n g e (e.g.,
192.168.20.x). A l t h o u g h the subnet mask m u s t be the same
for a l l the computers on the n e t w o r k , no two devices m a y
have t h e same IP Address. Therefore, each device m u s t have
a unique IP Address.
To check th e IP Address assigned to the wireless adapter,
follow the steps below:
• Click on Start > Run
• Type in CMD and press Enter.
• Type in “ipconfig /all” and press Enter
• Type in “ping 192.168.20.1” to check if you can access
the Travel Router

2. Why does your wireless connection keep dropping?
Please try the following s t e p s to impro v e the wire l e s s signal
quality. E n s u re t h e battery o f your Travel Router is f u l l y
charged.
• Tr y t o keep the Travel R o u t e r at least 6 i n c h e s away fro m
the wall or other objects.
• Try changing the channel on the Router to a different channel to avoid
interference. Please refer to the Basic Wireless settings section of this
manual
• Keep your product away (at least 3-6 feet) from electrical devices that
generate RF noise, like microwaves, monitors, electric motors, etc.
3. Cannot establish a wireless connection?

When the Travel Router is configured to use Wireless encryption
(WEP, WPA/WPA2 or any encryption), you need to ensure that
your wireless adapter settings match. Please refer to your
wireless adapter manual for additional information.
• Move the Tra v e l Router and th e wire l e s s client into th e
same room, and then test the wireless connection.
• Try to disable a l l security settings such as W E P, a n d MAC
Address Control.
• Turn off the Tra v e l Ro u t e r and t h e cl i e n t . Then turn t h e
Travel Router back on again, a n d then turn on the client.
• Ensure that all devices are set to Infrastructure mode.
• Ensure that the LED indicators are i n d i c a t i n g n o r m a l
activity. If not, ensure that t h e AC p o w e r adapter is
firmly connected o r the battery of the Tra v e l Router is
charged.
• Ensure that the IP Address, su b n e t mask, gateway and
DNS settings are correctly entered on the computer.
• If you are u s i n g 2 . 4 G H z cordless phones, X-10 e q u i p m e n t ,
or other home security systems, ceiling fans, or lights,
your wireless co n n e c t i o n ma y degrade dramatically, or
drop altogether.
• To a v o i d interfere n c e , you can change t h e wire l e s s
Channel on your Travel Router.
• Keep your product at l e a s t 3 - 6 f e e t a w a y f rom electrical
devices that ge n e rate RF noise. Examples include:
microwaves, monitors, electric motors, and so forth.
