Assigning each traffic to the classes
Each traffic (Service plus target) entering the shdsl network can be assigned to one class;
Any traffic not assigned to one class is supposed to belong to the default class.
How it works ?
The IP data flow entering the XSRING switch is analysed and marked as
premium or gold or silver or bronze or default and then transported
through the shdsl network with the relevant priority.
15.2 QoS set up
Step 1 : Complete the services list
Select the “System” menu and then “Service list”.
Add new services if necessary (Protocol & port number).
Step 2 : Define the destination IP addresses (Target)
Select the “System” menu and then “Target list”.
Click the “Add a target” button.
Enter an IP address to specify a single host (for instance 192.168.10.12)
or a range of IP addresses and a netmask (for instance
192.168.10.0/255.255.255.0).
Step 3 : Define the classes
Select the QoS menu and then the “Activation” menu.
Select the QoS menu and the “Activation” menu; select the “Activation” checkbox.
Select the “Classes” menu and assign a minimum and a maximum
bandwidth to each class.
Step 4 : Define the classes
Select the QoS menu and then the “Activation” menu.
Select the QoS menu and the “Activation” menu; select the “Activation” checkbox.
Select the “Classes” menu. Assign a minimum and a maximum
bandwidth to each class.
