To start a VI Client session
1LogintoyourWindowssystem.

DomainAdministratorsgroup.Thispracticeofrunningonadomain
controllerisnotrecommended.
3 LaunchtheVIClient.
Double‐clicka
shortcutorchoosetheapplicationthroughStart>Programs>
VMware>VMwareInfrastructureClient.
4Logintotheserver.
Enterorchoosetheservername,yourusername,andyourpasswordforthat
server.ClickLogintocontinue.
Ifthisisthefirsttimeyouhaveloggedontothe
VirtualCenterServer,anempty
Inventoryscreenappears.Addadatacenterandhosttobeginmonitoringand
managingyourvirtualmachinesthroughtheVMwareInfrastructureClient.See

Stopping the VI Client and Logging Out
WhenyounolongermustvieworaltertheactivitiesthatVirtualCenterisperforming,
logoutoftheVIClient.
To stop a VI Client session
Clicktheclosebox(X)inthecorneroftheVIClientwindow,orchooseFile>Exit.
TheVIClientshutsdown.TheVIClientisloggedoffthe
server.Theserver
continuestorunallitsnormalactivitiesinthebackground.Anyscheduledtasks
aresavedandperformedbytheVirtualCenterServer.
