betweenprocessorsthatdosupporttheSSSE3instructionsandprocessorsthatdonot
supporttheSSSE3instructionsbecausetheyareapplicationlevelinstructionsthat
bypassthevirtualizationlayer,andcouldcauseapplicationinstabilityifmismatched
afteramigrationwithVMotion.
Networking Requirements
1VMotionrequiresaGigabitEthernetnetworktoensurerapidmigration:
Adedicatednetworkisrecommendedtokeepvirtualmachinememorystate
secure.
VMotionrequiresaprivateGigabitEthernetmigrationnetworkbetweenallof
theVMotion‐enabledmanagedhosts.WhenVMotionisenabledona
managedhost,configureauniquenetworkidentityobjectforthemanaged
hostandconnectittotheprivatemigrationnetwork.
Twohostswithcross‐connectedGigEcardscanbeusedfordemopurposes.
2Virtualmachinesmusthaveaccesstothesamesubnetsonthesourceand
destinationESXServerhosts.
3NetworklabelsforeachvirtualNICmustbecreatedthroughtheESXServer
configurationsettings:
