itopens,double‐clicktheRPMinstallerintherootoftheCD‐ROM.
 Ifyouseeafilemanagerwindow,double‐clicktheRPMinstallerfile.
InsomeLinuxdistributions,theVMwareToolsCDiconmightfailtoappear.In
thiscase,continueinstallVMwareToolsfromthecommandline.
5Whenprompted,entertherootpasswordandclickOK.
Theinstallerpreparesthepackages.
6Click
ContinuewhentheinstallerpresentsadialogboxthatshowsCompleted
SystemPreparation.
Adialogboxappearswithaprogressbar.Whentheinstallerisdone,VMware
Toolsisinstalled.Thereisnoconfirmationorfinishbutton.
7InanXterminal,asroot(su -),runthefollowingfiletoconfigure
VMwareTools:
vmware-config-tools.pl
Respondtothequestionstheinstallerdisplaysonthescreen.PressEntertoaccept
thedefaultvalue.
8Whendone,exitfromtherootaccount:
