Specifying Consolidation Settings
Consolidationsettingsenableyoutospecifythecredentialsnecessarytorun
Consolidationservicesandtospecifydefaultsystem‐levelcredentials(see
“ConsolidationPrerequisites”onpage 130).
To specify consolidation settings
1 SelectAdministration>ConsolidationSettings>Credentialstab.
2ClickChangeinoneofthefollowingareas:
ServiceCredentials–UsedtorunthecollectorserviceontheVirtualCenter
Server.Ensurethatthisaccounthasadministratorprivilegesonthe
VirtualCenterserverand,ifActiv eDirectoryisdeployed,thattheyalsohave
thenecessaryprivilegestoqueryActiv eDirectory.Furthermore,thisaccount
mustbegrantedtheuserrightto
Logonasaservice.Thisisaccomplished
throughtheLocalSecurityPolicyutility(Start>AdministrativeTools>Local
SecurityPolicy).
DefaultCredentials–Usedtoaccesssystemsthatareselectedforanalysisbut
forwhichnoadministratorcredentialsarespecified.
3Enteradomain‐qualifiedusername(forexample,DOMAIN\username)and
password.
4ConfirmthepasswordandclickOK.
