To connect or disconnect a managed host
1FromtheVIClientconnectedtoaVirtualCenterServer,clicktheInventorybutton
inthenavigationbar.Expandtheinventoryasneeded,
andclicktheappropriate
managedhost.
2 Selecttheappropriatemanagedhosticonintheinventorypanel,andchoose
ConnectorDisconnectfromthepopupmenu.
3Whendisconnecting,confirmtheaction.ClickYes.
Whenthemanagedhost’sconnectionstatustoVirtualCenterischanged,the
statusesofthevirtualmachinesonthat
managedhostareupdatedtoreflectthe
change.

OTENewerprocessorshavetwoCPUcoresineachprocessorpackage.
SystemswithdualcoreprocessorsmustuseESXServer2.5.2orlater.
VirtualCenterlicensesareissuedbypairsofprocessorpackages,notby
processorcores.Therefore,ifthesystemisusingtwodualcoreprocessorsor
twosinglecoreprocessors,
thesystemrequiresasingle2processor
VirtualCenterlicense.
NOTEDisconnectingamanagedhostdiffersfromremovingthemanagedhostfrom
VirtualCenter.DisconnectingamanagedhostdoesnotremoveitfromVirtualCenter;it
temporarilysuspendsallVirtualCentermonitoringactivities.Themanagedhostandits
associatedvirtualmachinesremainintheVirtualCenterinventory.Removinga
managedhostremovesthemanagedhost
andallitsassociatedvirtualmachinesfrom
theVirtualCenterinventory.
