Term Description
GPRS General Packet Radio Service.
A packet oriented mobile data service on the 2G and 3G cellular
communication system's global system for mobile communications
(GSM).
GSM Global System for Mobile Communications.
A standard set developed by the European Telecommunications
Standards Institute (ETSI). The GSM standard describes protocols
developed for second generation (2G) digital cellular networks which are
used by mobile phones.
HTTP Hypertext Transfer Protocol.
This is an application protocol developed for distributed, collaborative,
hypermedia information systems. HTTP is the most basic building-block
and foundation of data communication for the WWW. Hypertext is a
multi-linear set of objects, building a network by using logical links (the
so-called hyperlinks) between the nodes (like text or words).
IP Internet Protocol.
The primary Internet communications protocol. This protocol is used for
relaying datagrams (also known as network packets) across an
internetwork using the Internet Protocol Suite responsible for routing
packets across network boundaries.
